NEWLY ANNOUNCED | Request for Applications: Mini Grant for Youth Peer Support Program Start-up The Ohio Children’s Alliance (“Alliance”), on behalf of the Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Center of Excellence (COE), is accepting applications from Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) certified Community Mental Health Agencies to support the development and implementation of youth peer support programs. Download SFY24 Youth Peer Support Program Start Up Support RFA A youth peer support program is a service that provides guidance, mentoring, and advocacy to youth and young adults who are experiencing behavioral health challenges (mental health and/or substance use disorders). A youth peer support program utilizes certified youth peer supporters (CYPS), who are individuals between the ages of 18-30 who have direct lived experience with behavioral health challenges and who have completed an approved 40-hour training by OhioMHAS. The Alliance will provide $50,000 of funding for mini-grants of up to $10,000 each for a scope of work covering April 1-June 30, 2024. The goal of these mini grants is to increase the availability and accessibility of youth peer support services in Ohio, and to promote the recovery, wellness, and resilience of youth and young adults with behavioral health challenges

The Alliance will use $23,000 of funding from the COE to award multiple grants to community mental health agencies with scope of work covering April 1, 2024, through June 30, 2024. To be eligible to apply, Ohio non-profit organizations or businesses possessing a certificate in good standing to operate a community mental health agency from the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, must commit to supporting up to two (2) selected staff members in their participation of the required Middle Management Academy training during typical business hours. The Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Center of Excellence (CABH COE) at Case Western Reserve University, in partnership with the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM), is pleased to announce the release of a Request for Applications (RFA) to support the development of high-quality, state-wide access of Intensive Home-Based Treatment Models that are aligned with Ohio’s IHBT service delivery model. The CABH COE is providing grants for program start-up as well as training and technical assistance to eligible behavioral health providers proposing to create new or expand existing IHBT services.
The deadline to submit an application is February 2, 2024.
A virtual bidders’ conference to review the RFA and answer questions will be conducted on January 12, 2024, from 12:00 pm until 1:30 pm EST. Attendance at the bidders’ conference is not mandatory, however after this date, all other questions will be referred to the RFA document.
